The western bay of the north aisle was screened off from the nave by Nathaniel
Saunders
(1837 to 1914) in memory of his seven sisters and his wife Emma. He was a
well-known
builder in the village. Examples of his work still surviving are the former
Congregational
Chapel (now Dedham Centre), the Lecture House and Hallfields where he resided.
The screen
was designed and executed by Caröe, one of the leading Church craftsmen of
the early
twentieth century.
